I think the quality/price point is getting close to the problem. We bought a higher-end Class C precisely because I didn't want to have to spend my time fixing it, I wanted to use it. And because I am a senior citizen who has already out-lived my parents, the time I have left I don't want to spend in a repair shop.
We have a 2011 model in which we have completed 2 cross country trips, a trip to Alaska, and at least 2 trips/year to Florida. We put on over 50000 miles at this point. Beyond normal service, I had the AC thermostat go out at year 1 which was replaced/repaired under warranty. The big ticket repair was the converter/charger last Feb. for a total of $600 installed at my campsite.
Other members of our regional owners group also report good quality and few repairs necessary, several with over 100K miles on the odometer. One couple has owned their rig for 18 years and it is still going strong.
This is not meant to be snobish, rather, to make the point the old adage, "you get what you pay for" holds true to some degree with RVs. With autos, do you remember the Yugo?
