Those that don’t have experience with multiple residences and “think” that everything must be registered in the state in which one claims residency (which can also differ from your “tax home” under certain conditions) should maybe refrain from sharing their expertise.
However, one thing I have found is the cops don’t really/always understand that either.
So makes no sense to go through great pains to be “perfect” as you may get a different determination if cited.
But a ticket is cheap and easy to refute. As long as your liability is covered, Aka insurance is ok with how/where you have it registered and insured, that is the much larger potential financial impact should you have a claim.
But I don’t recall AZ being particularly expensive to register, tax implications etc and they have permanent trailer tags too I think ( if you have a trailer).
