Idk how you’d ever rent a car within a short distance of 99.5% of places you would camp in a RV. And if you’re camping in the middle of cities then stick to hotels….
Your query suggest that not only do you not know anything about RVs but also nothing about towing or how you would setup a toad (and you didn’t say a tow dolly) or the capacities/capabilities of various vehicles. IE small 4 banger SUVs have 2500-whatever tow capacity.
A full size chassis motorhome has a greater tow capacity in, again, the vast majority of applications.
And if you rent, they don’t know what you’re gonna tow. But it’s at your risk if you’re taking that on.
suggestion, use the interwebs to figure out the basic logistical weirdness of the rental part as well as what/how to tow, we’ll, anything.
Or the short answer is it seems like RVing doesn’t fit your plan.
