We never make reservations and have been traveling for 3+ years full-time. We have never been unable to get a site. We do not travel during holiday times though. You might want to check out Passport America - 50% off camping instead of just 10% Some nice parks - some just okay for a night's stop. We also use google maps and in the search enter " rv parks and campgrounds near which ever city/state you plan on stopping. It will pull up what's in the area with a link to the website if they have one. Happy Travels!
