RVers survey

The following graphic is a real eye opener, even for a Canadian.

Where do you live?

This shows where almost half of the folks in Canada live..
Well, that sure leaves a lot of room for the rest of us eh?

As one who has never lived in a crowded city, and no desire to, I now see that I live in the province with the largest concentration of people. I guess I knew that but never saw it like this.

Luckily I live at the far end of Ontario where the little bump-up from Minnesota called the northwest angle is. Should be after my lifetime before the urban sprawl from the greater Toronto area reaches us...

To ask your help...

I think this map is accurate but thinking it through; if you meet a group of 4 or 5 Canadian snowbirds, you should be able to say
"I will bet that 2 of you live within 100 miles of Toronto or Montreal or Vancouver"
It would be interesting to hear the results..

Without getting political or racist, every snowbird I ever met was white anglo. That leaves our a large chunk of those in the red areas.

Next time you're in Florida go through Hollywood, St. Pete's or Sarasota.

In certain parts you can buy french language newspapers, listen to news on the radio from Canada in French and go into restaurants, stores and hotels / motels and rarely hear a word of English spoken.

That's not so easy to figure out.

Of the 45% inside the red area how many have ever camped.

I fully agree, most immigrants to Canada live in these areas.
That's why I threw in the "within 100 miles"

But its a good geography lesson for everyone...:W

Whenever I am asked where I live and I say Ontario, next question is...
"Oh, do you know Steve from Toronto?" :B

Some have a weight problem, they get counted twice.
  • Fizz, there are 110% of Canadians? Holy crap, eh? My mom and grandma are from Halifax, Nova Scotia. I haven't been there in 25 years or so. I remember it being gorgeous country up there, but man does it get COLD and they sure get a LOT of snow. I wouldn't live up there either!

Vancouver seems nice. Seems like it isn't as cold, mountains and water look gorgeous. If I was a west coast guy I could see living up there. My brother-in-law's family moved to Seattle about 15 years ago, he loved it up there.

Its amazing how much open space there is up there...

65% of us live outside those red dots.

All the times we were in Arizona I met more Iowa corn farmers than inner city folks. Nice people.
  • At the present moment half of those red dots have migrated South!

    navegator
  • That 45% live there because the rest of the country is so miserably cold!!! That's why so many of them
    are snowbirds.
