I did not mention the price of gasoline (called petrol in Aussie). While we raise hell about gas prices, US consumer still enjoy low gas prices compared to places in Australia and Europe.
Australians buy gas in liters and we buy gas in gallons. If you compare the cost based on volume, Aussie would be paying more than $ US 8.00 per gallon.
Here in CA we are paying high price second only to Hawaii and motorist would scream bloody hell when prices go above US $3.00.
Go outside US and look around and you'll be glad you are living in America. Mexico is a different story however.
