I am a Seattle DC. Couple of quick thoughts.
1) these days most insurance companies want you to have the shots first before they will approve the surgery.
2) It may well be your long term pain is from the stenosis and your acute pain is from the disc.
3) I have no idea if you will need surgery or if conservative care could help
But I have a neurosurgeon I refer too and have a great deal of respect for.
There is another down your way, I don't have much respect for. If you want to send me a PM I will give you the name of they Doc I like.
