Mine only last about half that time before scaling takes them out :(. I don't have to worry about the anode. - Sport45Explorer II

Not I. I understand how a zinc works on a boat. It is useless without water. How it can work in the air is beyond me.
Yeah, an anode is pretty much useless without an electrolyte. And air is useless as an electrolyte. - NoLookingBackExplorerIt generally gets replaced with installation of the new water heater. You know, the old that began to leak!:)

- Deb_and_Ed_MExplorer IIWow - you learn something new here every day!
- VeebyesExplorer III am very familiar with electrolysys having been a saltwater boater since 1982 with boats kept inwater. Zincs/anodes on landbound vehicles? New one for me.
I suppose if you wanted to provide a good bond between aluminium house frame & vehicle frame that could be done with a dedicated bonding strap easily accessible for cleaning. I do check the waterheater anode annually.
If you are going to put an anode on the frame be sure there is no paint under the anode for a proper bond. - SlownsyExplorerMountainborne sorry but have not got one.
Frank.
