Actually I think Marcus has already assumed that status and dominates the US RV market, whether good or bad. It is very premature to determine that this location is now ruined also as some have suggested. There are a number of CW locations that routinely get high marks from folks on this forum.

I agree. The same old "town cryers" are crying the blues while Marcus and his investors are sitting around counting their money. Ain't it great? :B

It's the way real business men run things. Especially ones that are really successful, and have loyal customers. TJ knows very well how to treat his customers. From the NASCAR drivers who buy from him, (and there are many), to the popup buyer. ALL his customers are invited to camp for free one week a year. He supplies the food, and entertainment. All you have to do is show up in time to get a site.

That is one of the pulses at TJ Marion. Tom J rides the grounds all day long. Talking to customers, checking out the Campground, and just seeing how things are going. We would see him coast by every couple hours

My one complaint against CW is a lot of their employees act like they are doing you a favor by working on your RV. The service dept. should have Undercover boss visit a bunch of them to see how they interact with their customer base.....

At CW of Statesville, we've had nothing but very positive expereinces.

My experiences, and the experiences of relatives of mine with both places (CW at Statesville and Tom Johnsons) has been the exact opposite of yours.

Nearly every time we've bought an RV, we've been to Tom Johnson, and looked at what they had. Never had a bad experience working with their sales group. We never have actually bought an RV from them (always ended up finding something we liked better somewhere else), but it was not because of anything they did wrong. We *have* used their service department many, many times, and they've been great for that. They have HUGE service facilities, and can pretty much work on anything from a small pop-ups right up to 45' bus conversions.

CW at Statesville, though, is a very different story. We do like going there just to look around in the CW store at various accessories, toys, etc., but that is it. My BIL had the mis-fortune of buying a 5th wheel recently from CW, and tried to take it there to Statesville CW for service. They were NOT happy at all with them.

I really, really hope that CW lets Tom Johnson dealership run as it always has, and doesn't foul it up like so many other CW locations.

Will be good for Terrell Camping Center, Kings Mountain, Camping Corner and Bumgarner's Camping center. they will get lots more business. As people here won't do business with CW. I tried to deal with the Statesville Store. Nothing but lies, and super high prices. Salesman told me my 98, I6, Grand Cherokee could tow a 29' TT that weighed dry 6000lbs. Lots of knowledge there. Yeah Right.

I just hope they don't ruin the Campground in Marion, like they do everything else.
