AND.... Those two loops on either side of a hitch are worthless.I see many RV'ers hooking their tow chains to the metal loops on the side of the hitch.
I hooked up to them one day to pull my truck out of a snow bank and it split right open. And that's at a slow pull.
Don't see those rings holding up when your towed vehicle rips away from the tow vehicle and snaps that chain tight on them.
Soooo..... what are those "loops" for that are beside the hitch receiver??
Again, people are overthinking too much. Those are explicity designed for the safety chains and I will continue to hook up my safety chains to these explicitly designed loops.
