I also have to comment that the Constitution does not grant us our rights, we are born with them and they are 'natural' rights bestowed by our creator. Notice how the founding fathers used the word "creator" instead of God. Your god may not be my God, my God may not be your God, but they believed we all had a "creator". These rights are inaleinable meaning that men (Gov't) can't take them away from you.....and yet they do....or at least keep trying.

It is unfortunate that people who own firearms can sometimes be careless with them and their children pay the price for that. I am sorry for that but they are YOUR children, not MINE and I am not responsible for their safety, YOU are. Taking MY firearms away will not keep YOUR children safe.......and yet we put up with fools behind the stearing wheel of a 2 ton death machine and thats acceptable.

Inalienable rights are discussed in the Declaration of Independence not the Constitution.

The Constitution has been amended...at least 25 times in the life of the document but the right to bear arms remains and thus is the current law of the land. You want guns to maintain your militia fine by me but not a right I need to exercise. Pretty sure I said that on page one of this thread.
