Safety
Hi All.. Maybe it is just me but I am getting concerned about our personal safety at camp grounds. Should a camper carry a weapon(gun)in the camper? Currently I do not. Jim2007

Just as there are "No atheists in a foxhole" I'll wager there are an equal number of "anti-Second Amendment people in a gun free zone during an active shooter incident".
Gun free zones are also known as Criminal Empowerment Zones. There were something like five other theaters closer to the Aurora shooters apartment playing the same movie at the time of the shooting. But he chose the first one that had "No Firearms" signs on all the entrances. If that doesn't speak sufficient volumes to anyone them there are not sufficient volumes on the planet to have them see sense.
By declaring your house, business, campground, golf course or any other area a gun free zone pretty much assures you of two things:-
1. The only people entering those places will be people with a disregard for the law.
2. If one of those with disregard for the law starts robbing or shooting you will have no-one there with the tools required to help you.
I really can fully understand why some people shun firearms. What I can't understand is why people try to take away the ability of law abiding citizens from carrying them. At least if there is someone around with a gun when a nutcase is about to shoot you you'd have a chance. As it is you are wishing no chance upon yourself. That being the case evolution has take a strange turn with you - it has bred out the survival instinct and, as basic genetics teaches us, strains that are unsuited to their environment eventually die out.
