Years ago when we got our first TT, the dealer we were working with told us about a unit he had “on order” and he was offering it to us first. We liked the model and the floor plan so we said yes. Gave them a good faith deposit of $500. Took about 2 months or so for it to come in. We got the occasional phone call from them asking for the balance before delivery. Each time I said I would take care of it when I see the unit in person when it arrived. They kept asking and I just kept saying no. When the unit arrived, we were very happy with it, we did the paperwork and paid the balance. Just stand firm. You hold all the cards at this point. Trick to it is you have to be prepared to walk away from the deal if it starts to feel wrong.
