We passed on a number of TT that were brand new, but had obviously been delivered in the salt. Not paying for a frame that is already surface rusty and looks like cr@p. Had one friend that bought one that looked like that and the "new" brakes were rusted out from just sitting on the lot for 18 months...
Another couple took theirs from upstate NY to FL for the Disney type trip over spring break. It got salted pretty good both ways. Within 3-4 months their 2 year old TT looked pretty ratty... all the screw heads rusted and bled down the sides of the TT and the brakes had to be redone. Surface rust, granted cosmetic, but for a not quite 2year old trailer it looked bad for its age- more like 10 years old.
And as someone stated, just rinsing with water doesn't really help all that much, so it's hard to really wash it properly if you use it in the winter.
