Back in the 60's, I was stationed on the east coast in Delaware and on Cape Cod. We bought a new car before we left Delaware for the Cape and the dealer asked if we were planning on keeping it long enuff to be driving it back to Wash state when I got out. If so, he said he wouldn't put the name of the dealership and town decal on the car as the resale would be lower when we got it home because of the amount of salt used on the east coast and Midwest highways. That was before the days of Car Fax and when I licensed it in Wash, the point of origin disappeared.
