Sand Mat For Bottom Of Stairs?

We moved down to Louisville over 2 years ago and I am STILL sweeping sand out of the camper....good luck. Seriously, I used to use a 3-step approach: 1) Astroturf welcome mat at the bottom of the steps for the initial foot wipe; 2) those step-rug things that wrap around each step and 3) a throw rug just inside the door. Between those 3 that got 95% of the sand and kept it manageable anyways. What got me wasn't so much the feet but when the kids would have dried sand on their ankles that would just drop off when they hit the couch or bed.

Found the outside shower helped a lot too.

That said, I really miss Montauk and Shinnecock!

It looks like something like that without the legs would be a good fit for us because it appears to have a metal grate on it so sand can go right through.

We can't really do the water tub thing because we camp there in the offseason too so we have shoes on.

Hope you find something that works! We did a heavy cleaning a few weeks ago and were still sweeping out sand from our beach trip in last June! Our biggest issue is dogs rolling in sand and then coming in MH. For humans, we kick out flip flops off before coming in.

We keep a small tub of water and a towel by the steps. Step in, step out, dry your feet. Sand gets on the top of your feet as well as the bottom.
