Your SAT TV will not get 12VDC Control DC VOLTAGE thru the SAT TV CONNECTION for the SAT TV ANTENNA Head to work.
You need to connect the SAT TV head port directly to the ANT CONNECTION on the SAT RCVR to get the DC Control Voltage.
For us it was easiest to run a couple of RG cables from the portable TRIPOD SAT TV Antenna two port head. Ran one RG cable to the front room SAT TV Receiver and the second RG cable to the SAT Receiver ANT input in the bed room. Then we connected the VIDEO OUTPUT cables to the TV's VIDEO INPUTs in each location.
Once setup this allowed us to use the TV REMOTE to select SAT TV or CABLE/OTA TV.
Don't have any idea how the newer SAT TV hookups are being used.
We ran this method for a few years until the NATL BROADCAST TV came out with true high def digital TV signals from the local towns. Since all we really like to watch was broadcast TV stations we just stopped bringing along the SAT TV items. We can pick up digital TV from the local towns using our BATWING OTA antenna. It is also FREE to use...
