Schools around the US

Anybody know as a general rule if most schools around the US are back in business?

I'm hoping to miss the "on school break" crowd this year. Leaving this week. Going to be mostly in UT and Co if that makes a difference?
  • School starts locally here in our district in PA (not necessarily statewide) next Tuesday.
  • Most of my friends have kids in school (mid 30s). I've seen friends posting back to school pictures in CO, UT, TX, and CA. I haven't seen any in OR posted yet.
  • Schools here started this week. And that is pretty typical for Texas.
  • Depends. There really is no way to know for sure except to call a specific school district and ask. Eastern Oregon school start late to allow the kids to work the harvests. Urban schools can start anytime from now to after Labor Day.
  • Here in NY, the schools open a day or two after Labor Day. It can be different in other states. I ran into school buses on the roads in NH once in the middle of August, and when I inquired about it, was told that they started earlier to allow for more 'snow days' in the winter.

Tomorrow here in Utah, you are in luck
  • In my limited experience most have started or are starting between now and Labor Day. You can always Google the school districts for the area you are going to be in and it should tell you when they started or will start back.
