Scratches

Hi, two days into ownership and we hit branches that have scratched the fiberglass. Is this common? Any hints of what to do about scratches. Many of our roads are narrow so there is nothing we can do about the branches. Thanks.

    ScratchX
  • McGuire's Flagship marine wax, 3 times a year.
For a trimmer,,,, Chainsaw, make first cut 1 foot above the ground and never need a ladder. Not.
  • I've used MaGuire's for years on all my vehicles. You don't have to wax nearly as often if you use it.

Nothing YOU can do, but what about the local road maintenance folks?

Right we are lucky if we get our roads plowed!

I find that unless the scratches are very deep, they will wax out.
I carry a hand trimmer with me and if I am in a park with branches hanging where they will scratch when we back in, I use the trimmer and get rid of them.

I am not into waxing all that much.

I know I sound like I have no idea what we are doing but our TT was aluminum and we didn't have this problem. What is a hand trimmer? Is there a brand? :h

I assume he's talking about something like this trimmer

:S Oh you mean an actual trimmer for the branches. Do private parks let you do that? But that is a great idea.

3M Finesse It and a little normal wax.

There is your best answer. 3M Finesse It is an incredible product. Use that to rub the scratch marks out and follow with a good quality wax.

I use the Finesse It with an orbital buffer, but I know how to work with it. If you are not familiar with using an orbital on your coach, then apply with a microfiber cloth and polish out.

Again, I assume that's what he's talking about, and most parks probably frown on you trimming their trees. :B
