2112, I once had a repair made to a ST tire on my travel trailer. The tires were new and on the first trip I picked up a screw in one of the tires when on the way home. I took the tire to the tire dealer that I bought the tires from. They patched the hole the screw made with a patch placed on the inside of the tire. I have not had any trouble with the tire at all. I do not remember which tire it was.
Unless you have a larger hole, I would not think a patch is anything to be concerned about. Most tire dealers would not patch something that would not hold, unless they were not reputable and were attempting to get out of a road hazards type of warranty repair.
