I sort-of have a specific answer - or at least a screw in ST tire, and patch experience.
Tire:
GY Marathon ST 235/80 R16 LR-D. Factory spec'd tires - about a year old.
Spotted screw in tire while in Bullhead City, AZ.
Removed wheel, (replaced with spare) took wheel to tire shop, dismounted tire.
Screw *had* made it all the way through.
First opportunity to see and feel (heft) a dismounted GY Marathon "balloon". - *NOT* impressed!
Anyway, patched tire became the spare.
ALL GY Marathons were replaced shortly afterwards with LR-E Michelin XPS Ribs.
Other than saying the patched tire held air just fine........it never saw pavement again.
Yes, I know you have 15" tires, but suggest you do the same - upgrade, or at least make your patched tire the spare!.;)
