Stacker trailer is not an option, that would put me up over my GCVW. That trailer looks to be about 2,000~2,500 lbs, before you load it. So I am still waiting on more information. The type of joint my tow bar has is referred to in the engineering world as an articulating joint. Articulating joints are often used in places where a vehicle needs to bend in the middle due to tight places. So it will be interesting to see how this is viewed, by engineering definition, when the Towed and Winnebago are hooked together they are one vehicle. Now engineering definition and motor vehicle code may be different, I am waiting on that one. Either way this is what I am waiting on.
No the trailer only weights around 1500 lbs, it was made small just for a TJ Jeep and small boat, the whole setup weights around 6000 lbs loaded, yes its 1000 lbs over my towing weight but the hitch/frame in back of RV has been modified and I don't carry lots of stuff in RV so it tows easy and still can climb the mountains and maintain 45 mph without over working the RV..
Trust me I use to double tow and what a pain and hard to get gas while on the road, the extra weight of a trailer is no big deal compared to the double tow issues and law from state to state, besides the trailer has 4 electric brakes and no more wear on the Jeep tires and such, so much better with a stacker setup..
