Season ain't over till the fat Lady hollers...

Still got good camping and RV'ing weather in the PNW. I see that Wa #20 is still open so come Saturday will begin a 10-14 day wander about coming thru the north Cascades.
Heading to Seatle then to the Washington coast..perhaps up to Pacific Beach State Park for a night..then just mosey along until the calendar runs out. I have a fave spot..South Bend..a small town just south of Raymond..a bar that juts out over the river...that is home to oyster farms...and the bar is always For Sale. Hopefully it still is open..a plate of 1/2 dozen on the half shell and some Rogue River Dead Mans Ale.

Then on-wards..maybe the bit of land in Ilwaco..just across from the marina. Can usually grab a wifi signal from there, too.

Down the coast of Oregon..perhaps as far as Brookings. Kinda weather dependent. I'd like to get that far then head east into northern Nevada..the Sheldon Wildlife Refuge, before pointing for home. If the weather is just sucky...then hhmmmm....we'll see.

    Be thankful yours was a grey water valve. I had to replace a blackwater valve a few dyas ago. 3 hours under the trailer battling that thing. Not the first time to replace it. It is one of those electric Drainmaster system valves.

    Push button this that or the other thing is all well & good till you push the button & nothing happens.

    All over but the clean-up now...I have a leaking grey water valve that is going to be a struggle. It is all and I do mean ALL boxed in and under a metal plate tht protects the underside from getting damaged when I scrape it thru a ditch or over something.

    Wish y'll a good fall and hope you get out to do some "off-season" outdoorsy stuff.

    To those that checked the Blog for the pix, hope you enjoyed.

    Menno,SD. I stayed there last summer. It is at the north end of the city park. They have three power poles and a restroom WITH showers as well. A dump station is a few blocks away. Menno is where my mother was born and is a town of about 6-700 people.

    Oh dear, fall has finally arrived in the Mid Atlantic. Currently sitting in a Cheasapeake Bay boatyard, to do some DIY maintenance, with my wheels no more than 6' from the water & temp is supposed to get to lower 40s tonight.

    Ah well, day temps should be in the 60s so working outside should not be unpleasant.

    Yesterday it was a city block with a bunch of old trucks..this morning in Harrington it was a shop filled with Studebakers. Naturally enough the shop was closed but I could peek in the windows and oh my goodness. Maybe as many as 10? There were 5 or six more just left outside, along side the shop.

    Then a just outstanding drive thru Roosevelt National Park, around over the top, grab 20 and start the last stretch. Got into Republic for the night and...for those of you that travel northern Washington...they have a really nice city park that is signed

    Just cause it's season over in Alasksa..I mean, who is really surprised? Temps in washington are above the norms..I have had my furnace on once? maybe twice. Currently in Harrington and lovely sun and warm warm warm...

    If you like old iron? City of Sprague..just west of Spokane..has a city corner lot that has in excess of forty old trucks..just parked there. Sprague has famllen on hard times but the trucks and the free campsite out at Sprague Lake might bring in some interest.

    Sorry, in the most NW of the Pacific NW, winter has settled in with prejudice;
    - 4" of snow last Thursday (?); Not a big deal in itself, but;
    - Many drivers in Los Anchorage contracted the yearly "It's winter and I've lost my driving sense" virus;
    - Temps are a bit chilly for camping; in Los Anchorage, otherwise known as the Banana Belt of Alaska, lows have been in the low teens recently and highs in the 20's....at least at my house.

    If you have been following just cuse...I have ventured up the Columbi as far as Walla Walla and am now heading kinda north...towards Spokane. I'll just laze about..figure home by Wed or Thursday.

    I have to say..almost every small town I am in,,hass a brew pub and a winery. And these are small places...Waitsburg Wa has all of that plus a distillery. I only made the brew pub.
