Searching_Ut..One of my favorite states. Glad you liked the pix. Where are you as of Wednesday? I am in Long Beach..on the beach, actually and have wifi...? Go figure.
So, lets talk. Do you go to RV campgrounds for the night? If so..have you considered boondocking here and there? If you are paying saaay 30 a night? which is very conservative...you are at $1,000 a month. A person can do it differently.
I am not aadvocating doing it all the time..just cause I do doesn't mean all should, but a person can effect some serious savings if they look at what they have, what they want to do and how to do it.

I really like Utah, that's why I stayed there when the Air Force tried to move me again when I already had 22 years under my belt and was retirement eligible. The state has it all from alpine type mountain areas to some of the most scenic desert regions you'll ever find.
For the last week I've been in the Gig Harbor RV resort. As for boondocking, I've probably got over300 days of backpacking in over the years, to include around 60 in Europe. Done the youth hostel thing, and had the great fortune to have been able to boondock in a wide assortment of different rigs in some of the greatest spots you can imagine. That said, since we've purchased this fifth wheel a year ago this month, we've gone from approximately 80 percent boondocking, or at least dry camping to about 80 percent park type camping. No reason in particular other than it fit into where we were intending to go. The wife had a business conference she had to attend the last 3 days in Seattle, and the two nights hotel cost for her room at the Hyatt cost her company more than the 2 weeks of RV parks I paid for on this trip, so you could consider the rv parks a bargain. We intend to retire next year, and then I'll have to cut the spending down some though when it comes to camping as we intend to spend at least 4 months out of the year on the road. I have the rig set up pretty good for boondocking other than my battery bank which I'll upgrade next year.
As far as where we've been this year, Numerous little trips in Northern Utah, like Flaming Gorge, Lake Havasu for a couple weeks last Feb/Mar, Estes Park Co, Island Park Id, Sand Hollow Utah, and of course we did a couple weeks exploring a very small portion of Washington state. Can't wait until we have more time to explore. Stupid work thing keeps getting in the way.
