Gary, I'm afraid I'm back in Utah now getting ready for work, so won't be able to utilize any campsite recommendations this trip. We came back via Snoqualmie pass, spent last night in Caldwell Idaho visiting relatives. The pass was beautiful with the low lying fog, mountains peeking through from time to time, still a fair bit of fall color.
As for the wine, I went into the Air Force straight out of high school and ended up in Germany for the first assignment. Why drink wine when there is so much good beer to be had? I find myself trying to find and fill the fridge with local micro beers just about every where I travel to. Surprisingly, even Utah has quite a few that are very good.
Overall, great trip, and more importantly, the DW is quite looking forward to heading back. I've always been a camper, but the wife wasn't really in to it when we got married 11 years ago. Took a couple camper upgrades, and time and patience but now she is actually asking when the next trip is rather than begrudgingly going along.
