Season ain't over till the fat Lady hollers...

Still got good camping and RV'ing weather in the PNW. I see that Wa #20 is still open so come Saturday will begin a 10-14 day wander about coming thru the north Cascades.
Heading to Seatle then to the Washington coast..perhaps up to Pacific Beach State Park for a night..then just mosey along until the calendar runs out. I have a fave spot..South Bend..a small town just south of Raymond..a bar that juts out over the river...that is home to oyster farms...and the bar is always For Sale. Hopefully it still is open..a plate of 1/2 dozen on the half shell and some Rogue River Dead Mans Ale.

Then on-wards..maybe the bit of land in Ilwaco..just across from the marina. Can usually grab a wifi signal from there, too.

Down the coast of Oregon..perhaps as far as Brookings. Kinda weather dependent. I'd like to get that far then head east into northern Nevada..the Sheldon Wildlife Refuge, before pointing for home. If the weather is just sucky...then hhmmmm....we'll see.

    Have a good time Gary!

I think that the bar is still opened. All of the oyster places looked like they were doing a good business when we were there in July. You can camp at the boat ramp for $10.00. Helen Davis Memorial Park

Oh right...Gary pay for overnight parking/camping? hahahahahhaha....if I time the bar visit right, I'll just stay right there, Karen.

Garyhaupt, Not sure if you wish to pass through Seattle, if not a destination, consider continuing on Highway 20 down Whidbey Island to Coupville and take the ferry to Port Townsend then to 101, then either North to Port Angeles and the coast side, or down Hoods canal on South bound 101 to Olympia.

Thanks for the thoughts..I am very familiar with #20 and down Whidbey to Port Townsend. This time it's #20 to I-5 then to Seattle West actually...and hopefully the nasty storm will have settled down and come Monday, off to Olympia and west.

  • Poconos this weekend and cape may next week. Looks to be above freezing the whole time. So I will winterize after that. Probably will go out 1 more trip in November just no water.
  • There are supposed to be storms rolling in this weekend. Perfect time to camp at Ruby Beach or Kalaloch!

I think I know that bar in South Bend. Haven't been through there in many years. Enjoy!
  • Gary, watch the weather real close. They are calling for snow at the 5500' level starting tomorrow night thru next Tuesday in the PNW. We were down to 15° this AM, so winter is just around the corner.
