SEASON'S END w/pics

Another wonderful season of RVing has ended and we had a great year…again.

Our season began in March when we left St. Louis for a trip to Washington D.C. to attend a RV rally during the Cherry Blossom Festival. I was beginning to question my sanity when we dewinterized the trailer with snow still on the ground.

We put 7700 miles on our Silverback this year and had a great travel season. This was the second year in a row we visited Colorado Springs, CO. We always take a trip to Pike's Peak when we visit this area.

We also spent 18 days in Wyoming visiting Grand Teton NP and Yellowstone NP.

A view of the Teton mountains along the Snake River.

A view of Old Faithful from Observation Point.

Our local camping trips were somewhat different for us this year. We were evicted from COE parks three times this year, twice because of rising lake levels and once because of the government shutdown. Regardless we still managed to have some great camping trips this year.

Water continued to rise eventually causing us to be evicted.

Eviction notice taped to our door.

A lot of people had their reservations cancelled due to high water.

It’s always sad for us when we decide it’s time to winterize the trailer. We chose a COE campground that is 100 miles from our house for our last camping trip and a place close up the trailer for the season. Fall colors greeted us on this last week of October along with moderate temperatures so this last camping trip was a great one.

I love camping in the fall.

I hope everyone else had as much fun in their travels and camping as we did.

  • We like to RV in the fall as well,......OUR fall.
Our motorhome has never been winterized. It must be our thin blood, or something. But, we enjoyed your pictures. Thanks

    Hey Oakman,
It looks like you un-winterized in the snow at Lakeside Park. Am I correct? We winterize there at the and of every season since it's only 10 miles from my house.
Great pics! I love the fall one at the end. COE park. Ray Behrens at Mark Twain Lake perhaps?

Yes, that was 370 Lakeside where we dewinterized. The fall picture was taken at a COE park in IL.
