Seat Belt

Not sure where to post this but for some reason I have a horrible issue with seat belts, any seat belt and I'm wondering if anyone else has an issue and a way to fix it. For some reason, might me my height, or that I had a mastectomy, or ?? but the seat belt inches up and goes right across my throat. I've raised the belt up to the highest position and lowest position and somewhere in the middle and it doesn't matter, it ends up going across my throat.
Ideas would be very welcome
  • I agree a seat belt pad works for me. I am 5'2" and all seatbelts are a pain for me across the throat as well if I dont use one.
  • I use a seat belt pad...Any auto parts outfit (Autozone, etc). Lots of options and styles and materials.

Here is an example that I pulled from Google to illustrate.

I don't think it's the fault of the surgery; if it were, all of us men would have the same problem all the time. The cushion idea is a good one, or raising the seat if it's adjustable. Depending on the geometry of the seating area, moving the seat forward or sitting more towards the inboard side might also help.

Actually I'm half and half, but I really couldn't think of why that would be the cause BUT it seemed to start after I had the surgery. I'm tall so adding a cushion might not help but I will try anything.

Thanks also for the clip ideas, I've never seen them before and will go and order some right now.

  • I would think the LOWEST position would be less likely to ride up.

Maybe that and a seat cushion to increase your seating height
