I hope not. I grew up in the South Bronx and never saw or heard a gun. Got mugged once as a teen mostly because I was too busy paying attention to my platform shoes. Stopped wearing them which made my mother exceedingly happy at the time, LOL.
Have traveled and lived in various countries throughout the world and never felt the need to arm myself there either.
I will say that as an American I've never been past the eastern shore of the Ohio River which makes me kinda ashamed to say "Oh yeah I've been to Doha but not Duluth". Also explains why I'm interested in RVing on this continent. Still, reading gun threads makes me wonder what is going on in other regions of the country.
My shoe incident and just city living has taught me to be aware of my surroundings, effect a fearless attitude in unexpected dodgy locales and stayyyyyy in the light.
