Is it that dangerous to travel in the US?
My first question too. We have traveled in the U.S. and never felt the need to pack a weapon but I suppose there is a first time for everything. Judging by the number of gun threads on these forums paranoia seems to be common.
Paranoia. Maybe so, But at least everyone in the U.S. with out a felony conviction can own their choice of gun. So if you want to travel with one, go ahead. Be sure you know how to use it so when the time comes you don't get it shoved down your throat. Use it properly and with care. Situations have arisen in this country where the presence of a gun saved the day. As well we have seen cases such as the thugs who broke out of an Arizona prison hijacked a couple from Oklahoma out in New Mexico and murdered them , and then burned their RV with them in it and took their truck. Perhaps had they been armed there would have been a different outcome. All the more reason those north of the border might want to stay home.
