Selling out.......

DW and I have made a decision to sell our RV and our Dually. Pretty hard because we have grown attached to these old things. We are at a point in our lives where we simply don't get to use them enough to justify having them. The new owners will receive a much better RV than what I received as I have replaced just about everything on the trailer it seems.

We still plan on tent camping as we still have all of those things but putting up the ad for the old Layton.. just heart breaking for me.

I'm sure we will be back....just for now, we got to concentrate on the kids, home, and career.

with all that said, may your travels bring you much happiness and many many friends.

  • Been there. Tent camped. got an old 15' Scotty, truck camper and then a 24' Wilderness! then two kids...sold everything. took about 5 years then a tent, a popup, two trailers and the kids are out on their own. Now 2013 5th wheel with a diesel DRW and going where we want. Hang in there, it gets better, just gotta do what you gotta do in the meantime.
  • It happens. We sold our first trailer because it wasn't being used, boat too come to think of it. For a while we tented and then work stopped even that. After a 13 year break work changed and the first thing we did was get another trailer.

    Good luck on your sale.
  • Sorry to hear the news but life goes on. We are close to the decision. If you look at rallies and gathering traffic is way down.

  • We tent camped and had to give up camping for years because our children were so involved with baseball and softball. Then we went to Europe for our vacations and did not go back to camping until about 15 years ago. Now we have the time to go 80-100 nights a year.
And have fun doing whatever comes next.

I know where you are coming from. The last few years we've had fewer and fewer camping trips - so far this year, we've been out all of 2 (Two) times. If we are lucky, we might get out in October. We'll see how things work out!
  • We were there once. Had to sell our MH several years ago. Between school activities, sports, and summer school there was no time for rving.

It can't hurt to consider a pop-up tent camper. A car can pull it, and it will allow one to go camping still if wanted.

Thanks, we may be doing that. Some pups are very nice. I have a Town Car for a DD that is a pretty capable TV.

    Thanks!

  • Sorry to see its not working out for you right now, but we've been there, and came back. Hope you stick around the forum and post every now and then. Happy trails ('till we meet again!).
