just how slow do you have to go when meeting a semi? seems to me it could have been an instant situation, and she couldn't put the RV into reverse until stopped and apparently stopped by the truck.

I don't think they were specifying who (semi or RV) when talking about speed as a factor. I think that's almost a blanket statement. Speed is always a factor, maybe not THE factor.
Way I read the article, it happened right in front of her, so seems to me she was stuck and just had to ride it out.
Thats crazy.. Glad no one was seriously hurt or killed.
