Setting tire pressure before hitting the road

Cold inflation pressure is the inflation pressure of tires before the vehicle is driven and the tires warmed up.
I set it depending on whether I'm after ride comfort, or fuel economy. Closer to recommended inflation pressure for ride, higher than that for fuel economy, without exceeding max cold inflation pressure.

I set mine to be correct for the approximate temp that I will begin towing. If cold at 7 am, much warmer at 3 pm, I adjust for my 10 am departure temp. Say tire pressure should be 80 psi cold, and 7 am temp is 40 degrees, but mid afternoon likely 75 degrees. I would set mine at 78 psi at 7 am temp, guessing 55 degrees, at my 10 am departure time will net 80 psi. Hope you understand, just my way, and works for me.

Inflate to manufacturer’s specifications. Beware of the tire “experts” who believe differently cuzz they’ve towed a trailer for 30 years never had a problem.

The recommended pressures already have daily temperature fluctuations built in. No need to alter during the day.

Keep it simple.

Set them to max pressure as stamped on the side walls of the tires. Do this in the morning before you start driving....and get on down the road.

That's what I do. Hasn't been a problem thus far.

Trying to tell people something like that on this or other RV boards? That is hilarious.

You get a lot of those who just have to complicate the uncomplicated on these boards for some reason. Tank sanitizing rituals, battery charging, tire pressure, greasing bearings, so on and so forth. Fun and entertaining reading however.

Exactly what I do. Never had an issue even if I left Canada in winter and went to Florida.
