We will not leave the house with any water running at all even a toilet refilling. We have had toilets stick on and run until we get back. We also turn the water off when leaving for a RV trip. No, not because we have had any disasters, just trying to avoid them.
We've also always made sure no water (dishwasher or laundry) is running when we leave the house. Like George, "just trying to avoid disasters."
