I might be crazy, but aren't you inviting huge issues at the US border? I would check to see what happens once you are in Mexico with a foreign vehicle and what you need to do to cross into US and further if you want to go to Canada. Your passport is not the driver here, it's where your vehicle is legally licensed to operate.
