it comes down to the problem. is it really a cheap easy cosmetic fix, then do it yourself, heck ya won't even hit the deductible.
I smacked our other rv with the lawnmower on the slide, flipping up and crinkling bottom of that slide. I thought---easy, they just punch it back down and little body work------heck no! not fixable, new things ordered to the tune of $1800 when done :( :(
so if claim is big, claim it
if the fix is easy, do it yourself
the only thing I base making a claim on is the cost of the problem.
alot of things around here went on a claim if it was a biggie....alot of things I never claimed cause why bother.
