I do not own a WDH and I will not even attempt to tow without one. That is something I was going to try and negotiate into any deal I make. My choice on hitches is the Blue Ox. Opinions/Comments?
I have no experience with Blue Ox. I did tow a 34' TT for 10 years with a Chevy 2500H using a Reese Dual Cam setup. I absolutely loved that hitch. The truck and trailer always felt like a single unit. Yes I got pushed by bow wave from semis but never any sway. I pulled in many situations with strong crosswinds.....no sway, no wiggle, just solid straight line towing.
How about if you poke around on Craigslist and see if you can find an inexpensive WD hitch setup? I routinely see them in my area for $100 or less. You could buy one of them to use during test drives just to see how things go. Even if it's not perfect it will help and then if you need a better setup you could sell it and probably get just about all your $$ back.
