Should I use my old Tow Bar

I have a Tow Bar (RM Sterling AT) I have not used it since 2007. Plan to set up new Toad next spring and am wondering if I can trust it or if I should buy a new one. Any advice or experience would be appreciated.

  • My Roadmaster Falcon-2 AT has been going strong for 11+ years now and I don't see any reason to throw away a perfectly good tow bar, just because it is an older model. There is NO way it can go bad when it is stored inside and covered. Use it and don't worry.

If you do decide to throw it away, please send it to me, I will make good use of it....:B
  • IIRC, my $145 Reese fixed arm towbar has been around since sometime in the '90s.
I still use it to tow the Rubicon.
  • Sorry, I am not good with photos. It looks in good shape, no rust. It has been stored, covered, in my garage all this time. I bought it new in 2005.
  • Photo would help, to determine physical condition. Generaly they don't go bad from not being used, assuming they are not all rusted.
