Shower Rod/Curtain

My bathtub and shower are quite small. I have seen the shower rods that bow outward to provide more shoulder room, but I'm not sure how the extra shower curtain fits toward the bottom at the tub.

For those that have, or have had, this type of rod and curtain, do they work well? Are they worth changing from the straight rod?

Thanks

  • Worked GREAT in mine. I'd post a picture but it seems that I can't get to my older photobucket pics. :(
  • I imagine it would work well. But if you want to try a cheap fix before buying the rod, do this. Take two binder clips. Attach one at each end of a length of string. Before going into the shower, clip one to the center of the curtain about where your elbow would be. Attach the other one to something straight across in your bathroom, if you can. In my previous motorhome, I just wrapped the other end around the toilet paper holder which was on the opposite wall from the shower curtain. Hope this makes sense.

I found this wonderful solution on this forum and it worked great for us!

If you're talking about the Extend-A-Shower rod, it's one of the best mods I ever made.

  • Our Lance camper has a bowed-out shower rod. Because the height between the rod and shower floor is less than in a regular situation, I need to cut off about 1" of the curtain before installing a new one. Measure the distance from the shower floor to where the rod would be bowed out ( the longest distance) and check against the length of a new curtain.

The bowed out rod makes all the difference when showering...I am no longer rubbing against the curtain while wet!!!
  • Never used one but did see the rod in person at camping world. Very cool how it folds into shower when not in use to open back up floor space.
