Sleeper Sofa Mattress replacement

Trying to find a suitable replacement for the paper thin sleeper sofa mattress in my TT. It's an odd size, so I was looking at some of the places that do custom mattresses, such as replacement-mattress.com and tochta.com.

Curious if anyone else has any a replacement mattress custom made and if you were happy. If so, please share vendor info. Alternatively, if you have a source for odd sized sleeper sofa mattress, that would be appreciated as well.

Ours is so uncomfortable that we revert to a air mattress, but the air mattress itself is too thick to stick on top of the frame. Would require kids to have a step stool to get in bed.

Thanks for any ideas/suggestions y'all have used.

Mike
  • Ours is pretty thin also, so we got three sections of heavy cardboard, and slip them under the mattress before the kids climb in. It does make it a bit better, and the three sections fit under our mattress when the grand kids are not with us.
  • I know other's experiences differ, but we've had a Flair air hide-a-bed sofa for 10 years now and I have very few complaints. Sofa is a little on the short side in cushion depth front to back, but the bed has worked great and seems more comfortable than a standard air matress, not sure if that's fact or perception on my part. The other consideration is, I had to take it apart because of my layout not allowing it to fit through the door. Otherwise, I'd buy another based on my experience this far.

  • OK, you might not believe this but I did a search for one that matched the measurements I needed. Ordered one off of Walmart and had it within 5 days. Fit perfectly and really comfortable. I have a bad back even after surgery and that mattress does not cause any pain in the am after I get up.
