I can see the gap your talking about, but what I'm saying is that the top trim piece is bent to a 90 degree angle and goes on top of the roof of the slide and under the tape about 1 inch. So, as long as that tape edge is not pulled up and is stuck down good, there is the 1 inch surface that is still sealed. Water can only get into your slide there if it it makes it to the center of the tape where the metal stops and the rubber roof meets. However each corner at the edge of the slide where the metal trim stops is a potential spot for leaks. Also where the rubber roof bends over the side of the slideout to a metal strip that transitions the rubber to the fiberglass side is also an area for water intrusion. Regardless, I hope you get it figured out soon and the leak stopped. I'm just offering ideas of other areas of concern, as I went through a nightmare with mine chasing the leak over a year and it turned out to be where I least suspected. Mine leaked whether open or closed, but was on the floor of the slide.
