Slide toppers

I am getting a set of toppers on the Fuzion in sig. I need a few opinions on the brand and why. I am leaning toward the Dometic elite toppers, but I am willing to listen to suggestions.

Forgot which manufacturer I have on our present rig, but I suggest you pay the extra $$$ and get the model with the metal wrap. When rolled up, this will protect the topper material from being torn, scuffed or abraded by branches and limbs in tight sites and overhanging trees on narrow streets.

We have had both..the metal wrap ones that we have now are worth it.

x2 on the ones that roll into the metal canister. That's what we have stay clean, look nice, protected from sun, wind etc. BTW ours are dometic.
  • My original topper had two layers but it delaminated after 8 seasons; don't know what brand. When I had the local RV dealer replace it they only used one layer. Don't know yet which is better but my gut says the double layer is better.
  • I went with the Elite by Dometic. I like the metal wrap feature and it is just a neat looking awning.
