Sliding windows

I noticed my door windows are sliding down on my 2005 artic fox. The seals seem quite weathered. Can just the window seals be replaced and the glass repositioned or do I have to purchase all new components? Thanks for any advice.

  • I know the problem well. Inside the window frame are pins that are molded into the frame itself. They are at both the top and bottom of the frame. They break, allowing the window to slide down. It's an idiot design, but that's another story.

The first fix is to remove the frame (be very careful with the glass), turn it upside down and re-install the glass on the unbroken pins that are now on the bottom. This is a FAR easier job with 2 people and can actually be completed in about 15 minutes.

Those pins will eventually break as well. A trip to any decent sized RV supply store will likely turn up an assortment of the frames in several sizes and either black or white. Cost around $20.
