No it is not collapsible. The ramps are stowed on each side and slide out for loading & unloading. They are pined in place when stowed & only slide out to a fixed position. Our RV "The Tardis" is a two person vehicle (my wife & I). We like it that way. The Smart Car is perfect for us. You could erect a dinning tent on the trailer platform if you needed extra space.
