Snake bit kits don't do anything and are a waste of money IMO. I saw a demonstration a few years ago (Mythbusters I believe) that proved the point. They took a large turkey from the supermarket and injected the breast with a blue dye, representing the venom. They then used a snake bite kit to cut the "X" over the "bite" and tried to suck the dye out with the supplied suction device. Very little dye came out, and when the raw turkey breast was cut away and sliced through the middle, all you saw was blue dye in the meat meaning the "venom" was still there. Look for snakes, be aware, and avoid them and you should not have any problems.
