I did consider this option but have chosen the high road this time. They actually brought the personal attack here as well but the mod deleted it. Too bad, I was up for a battle of wits today and the other party was unarmed.

Somewhere or other I heard that this was against the rules here - to post someone's personal message in the open forums.

That actually happened to me once - a part of a PM I wrote was quoted out of context in a thread and I just blocked that member rather than argue.

Personally I just want to get along. I'm here to learn and to help - and sometimes to give or get a good laugh.

I have been made aware of the flagrant violation of rules this presents. Moderator notified me immediately of the violation. I have solved my problem by blocking all PM's. Their Forum, their rules, my PM's. Have not figured how Moderator got the PM in, but they did. :@

Very interesting considering there is no such rule about posting PM's. I just read the forum rules, seems someone is making them up as they go.

Some people take the forum too seriously as if it was their life's work. There are no requirements for posting on this forum. Some people try to dominate certain forums here and it gets old and boring and people are afraid to post for fear of snarkism.

The forum is for entertainment, fun, and sharing what we have in common. Say no to snarks.

My Dad once told me if someone knows less than you then help him. If he knows more than you then learn from him. And if he's just plain mean then ignore him.

Private Messages are named that because they are supposed to be Private! That means between the two individuals concerned and no one else, unless permission is granted to publish it.

I am not the moderator involved in this discussion but would have deleted any published PM were it in a forum I moderate. I know how it feels to have a PM sent to someone else published, as it has happened to me.

You can block PM's from any member except for Moderators. They can send a PM to anybody at any time regardless of whether that person has PM's blocked or not.

Some folks.. Have nothing nice to say but need to say something or perhaps they have just been pushed far too far.

In another time and place a gentleman from overseas was asking about licensing (Driver's) here in the states. One of the replies was clearly a political statement that had nothing to do with the question.

I was tempted to answer that reply.. but good sense won out and I clicked on the "red X" as it were (Cancled the reply) Oh.

Sometimes the off-subject post is .. Funny.. I do not mind those...

For example,, If you (There is a thread like this) Ask what someone's favorite beer is.. My answer is ROOT BEER (I truly do not like the other kind).

But then, that is also an honest answer. True, Accurate, and one hopes, Funny.
