Another vote for a sleep study, STAT. If he's snoring so loudly that you can't sleep, I would bet my paycheck that he has sleep apnea. He may not even realize that it's so bad--that's very common. Most people have no idea that they're gasping and snoring and being restless all night long. Untreated sleep apnea can lead to heart attack, diabetes and stroke, so it's very important to be evaluated if you have symptoms (and snoring is the BIG one.)
I put off being tested for years. My DH reported that my snoring wasn't "all that bad", more like cat purring. So I just ignored it. Then he got sick with a lung ailment and needed a sleep study, so he made a deal with me--he would go if I would go first. So I did it.
Holy cow! I had severe sleep apnea. They stopped the test after the first hour because I had already stopped breathing over 80 times. They put me on CPAP immediately and I had the best night sleep I ever had. I've been using CPAP since 2007 and I absolutely cannot sleep without it. I'm no longer tired in the daytime, I don't fall asleep in movies or while watching TV, I don't take naps during the daytime, and I waken refreshed with a lot of energy. Now I have a CPAP machine for my house and one for my camper (after I went camping for a weekend and left the power cord at home! Worst camping trip ever.)
