I know what you mean. DH uses a CPAP because he has sleep apnea. I snore because...well, have been checked I don't have sleep apnea.
1st off I would get checked to be sure there isn't a medical reason...could be deviated septim, allergies, etc.
After that...try using a nasal spray to clear the sinuses, Breathe Right strips, and there are few other products to try. Sleeping on the back may also be bad. Have them lay on their side and put a pillow behind their back so they are less likely to roll over. The doctor should be able to advise on what else to do.
We make sure the snorer does not go to bed before the non-snoring person so the non-snorer gets fast to sleep before the snoring one.
If none of that works...I agree...sleep in different rooms!
