Sorry folks but I'm really P O D About this about big rig friendly rv park thing. Made reservations at park in Seattle area "yes your rig will fit" (38 ft MH 20 ft trailer) Get there they have amnesia about the trailer, the park has rvs stacked like cord wood, no room to move a pinto with a pop up let alone our rig. We as a group should ask that those who publish these books (Good Sams is one) verify ingress egress etc. Ps: The park we are at is called maple grove RV resort Everett WA.

I also wonder sometimes who is approving the big rig friendly. Most don't consider the width of the roads, access in and out, ability to back in without worrying about a huge tree on the corner, low hanging branches and tight turning radiuses to name a few. It isn't just is the length of the site, it is all else as well.

we went into one once in Canada. had a large tree branch hanging down. would have taken off my A/C if I had gone under it.

We found a great help using Big Rigs Best Bets Not the be all end all, but still a great help that hasn't failed us yet.

An urbanite's idea of "lots of room" is not the same as a normal person's.

Far , long, big, are all relative to ones eye, but when measurements are there it should be enough.I suggest also to call ahead and talk to the owner of the C.G

The wife uses rvparkreviews. It helps a lot. Plus looking on googlemaps. When the wife makes the reservations she tells them what we have and how long each one is. Asks if they have a big enough site, plus big enough interior roads to get around on. Even so do have been in some campgrounds with interesting roads and sites. It can be an adventure. :B

I could not get out of mine the first and only time I went there. They put apish to hold the trash can right at the end of my site. I pulled in but there was no easy way to back out either. So out came the drill and spade bit and I pulled the hi lift jack off the jeep. You know they did not use concrete so I could replace it somewhat instead of cutting it off. Never went back there again.

The guy's 38 foot RV with a 20 foot trailer would easily be over 60 feet end to end. The length of cargo trailers almost universally measures only the cargo area, not the tongue and hitch or any rear bumper on an enclosed trailer. Also the length of an RV never includes the length of the hitch and any tow bar or extension.

The simple solution is "unhook the toad" then proceed to the spot. Wait, that's way too much trouble, isn't it. They had rather leave the campground and complain on RV.Net. :S

If you actually read the Big Rigs book, the author tells you the site number and length of sites that will take a very big rig in most parks reviewed.
There are sites of over 100' mentioned.

I'm not pushing this book, but take a minute to read it and decide for yourself.

I disagree. A 40' DP with a 20' car is too long, much less a 45' with a pickup.

OP's rig MH + trailer totals 58 ft. A little research on the part of the OP would have revealed his rig was TOO BIG for the park.

Got to one of those parks. Made the biggest swing possible and skinned the side of the roof with a tree branch. Backed out there and went into the office. They said I would have to jump the curb across the street and go make a turn about five feet on the lawn. I replied are you xxxxxxx serious? I left.
