I retired at 59.5 years of age. Using the ss web site I figured all the different scenarios from 62 to 66 years of age and then emailed it to my financial advisor. He called me and told me my calculations were correct. I would be 79 when I broke even. Since I don't know for sure where I will be at 80 years of age and based on his advice I am taking mine at 62. It is not my primary source of retirement but more never hurts.
I do think that all my long distance travels with a fiver will be curtailed at 80 and that little extra money will not mean that much.
Everyone will feel different and there is not a "correct" scenario for everyone.
